TURKPA held Meeting of Heads of Research Units of Parliaments in video conference format

On 29 May 2020, TURKPA organized the Meeting of Heads of Research Centers or Relevant Units of Member Parliaments in video conference format. The theme of the meeting was “Empowering the Parliamentary Research Services”.

Heads and staff members of the research units, representatives of international relations departments of the member parliaments, as well as the TURKPA Secretariat participated in the video conference. The meeting was moderated by Mr. Javid Valiyev, Head of Foreign Policy Department of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center - a think tank in Azerbaijan).

The meeting included an opening ceremony and three sessions titled “Value of Parliamentary Research for Parliaments”, “Experience of the Research Center of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey” and “World Outlook for Parliamentary Research: Proposals on Establishment of Cooperation among the Research Units of the Member Parliaments”, during which the participants made speeches and presentations, noted the importance of parliamentary research and gave detailed information on the activities of their respective departments, as well as exchanged views on opportunities for future cooperation. The sessions were followed by questions and answers session and discussions by the participants on the matter.
