On 16 August 2023, Deputy Secretary General Nooruzbek Arstanbekov and Secretary of Commission Kadir Yaman took part in the field trip to the city of Aghdam organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the visit was to observe the reconstruction, construction, infrastructure and roadworks carried out in the city of Aghdam on the ground. The program was attended by diplomats, military attachés and representatives of international organizations accredited in Azerbaijan.

The participants were informed on the road infrastructure potential of the region, particularly Aghdam-Khankendi highway and Barda-Aghdam railway. Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan-Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev noted that the Aghdam-Khankendi highway was considered as a part of the reintegration of Armenian residents of Karabakh into Azerbaijan’s political, social, economic and cultural life.

Then the participants visited the Aghdam Conference Centre as well as became acquainted with a set of ongoing projects encompassing environmental landscaping.
