On 30 June 2021, Deputy Secretary General Talgat Aduov took part in the Seminar on “Normative-legal regulation in ensuring freedom of expression of will” organized by the Baku Branch of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD).
Parliamentarians, representatives of the CEC of Azerbaijan, academic communities and media attended the event.
In his speech, Mr. Aduov noted that the will of the people is the basis of government authority and elections and referendums are one of the main tools of expressing this will. Deputy Secretary General briefed on the activities of TURKPA observation missions in the member countries. He stressed the importance of the meetings of TURKPA and IPA CIS observation missions during the last elections and refendums in the Kyrgyz Republic and mentioned that holding such meetings would contribute to the experience exchange and further advancement of cooperation between the two organizations.
