On 22-23 June 2023, TURKPA delegation led by the Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er took part at the Issyk-Kul Electoral Forum under the theme "Elections of the XXI century: diversity, best practices, topical issues and ways of development", organized by the Central Election Commission for Elections and Referenda (CEC) of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Electoral Forum brought together heads and representatives of election administration authorities, international organizations as well as representatives of academic circles and experts.
Delivering a welcome speech, Chairperson of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurzhan Shaildabekova noted the importance of the Forum as a platform providing an opportunity for open dialogue and constructive interaction, the search of innovative solutions to the actual challenges that all election administration bodies face.
On the first day of the event, round tables titled “Improvement of the electoral law and process”, “Technologies of reliability and transparency” and “Youth and elections” were held, during which issues related to the improvement of relevant legislation and law enforcement practice, electoral technologies, and the exchange of experience in the field of election-related framework and process were discussed.
On the second day, the Plenary Session of the forum was opened with the speech by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov in an online format. Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er also addressed the forum. The second day of the event featured speeches and presentations by heads and representatives of election administration authorities and international organizations.
