On 20 June 2023, Deputy Secretary General Talgat Aduov took part in the event entitled “World Refugee Day and the Problem of Refugees in Azerbaijan” dedicated to the World Refugee Day, organized by the Western Azerbaijan Community.

The event was attended by officials, parliamentarians and representatives of diplomatic corps.

Aziz Alakbarli, member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community, delivered a welcoming speech. He talked about the history, activities and goals of the Community, stating that the Community aimed to ensure the peaceful, safe and dignified return of refugees to their homes. He informed on the appeals sent by the Community to foreign countries, international organizations, including the UN, the European Union and UNESCO. The Chairman also noted that the Community attached importance to the continued dialogue with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The documentary film "The Third Mission" dedicated to refugees was demonstrated at the end of the event.
