On 18 June 2023, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, within the framework of the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of TURKSOY.

Minister Nazarbekov noted that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had repeatedly stated the country's interest in the comprehensive development of relations with the Turkic world. The Minister also stressed the importance of preserving, developing and popularizing the customs and traditions of the Turkic world, especially taking into account the pace of development of current technologies. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation within the framework of TURKPA.

In his turn, Secretary General informed the Minister about the TURKPA activities, in particular, on the work of the permanent commissions covering various areas of cooperation, as well as on the process of drafting model legislation.

The parties noted the importance of close interaction and expressed readiness to further develop cooperation.
