On 2-4 June 2023, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er attended the 21st Alanya International Tourism and Art Festival organized by the Alanya Municipality.
The event was attended by more than 300 guests from 16 countries, including the heads and representatives of Turkic cooperation organizations, delegations from the sister cities of Alanya, representatives of associations and other institutions.
The festival began with a traditional Yoruk Migration and Cortege March in front of the Atatürk Memorial. Then, the opening ceremony of the festival took place on the square of the Iskele waterfall.
Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er made a speech at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was addressed by Adem Murat Yücel, the Mayor of Alanya, Fatih Ürkmezer, the District Governor of Alanya, Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Turkic Academy, Gunay Afandiyeva, President of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Ömer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Kemal Ün, Chief Advisor to the Secretary General of TURKSOY.
Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel expressed satisfaction of holding such an important event with participation of representatives of the Turkic states.
The guests visited 11 photo exhibitions, as well as the national pavilions of the Turkic states and the Yoruk pavilion, where the national cuisine and subjects of culture and life of the Turkic peoples were demonstrated.
