On 22 April 2022, within the framework of the 9th Meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs hosted by the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, parliamentarians from Kazakhstan Ms. Lazzat Ramazanova (Mazhilis), Head of the TURKPA Women Parliamentarians Group and Ms. Dinar Nuketayeva (Senate), member of the Commission met with Azerbaijani counterparts Ms. Malahat Ibrahimgyzy and Ms. Sadagat Valiyeva, members of the Women Parliamentarians Group.

Azerbaijani parliamentarians warmly welcomed the guests. The parties discussed the further development of the Women Parliamentarians Group and its future activities. They exchanged views on the importance of international instruments such as the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, known also as the Istanbul Convention, as well as support to women entrepreneurs.

Head of the Group Ms. Ramazanova informed the participants on preparations for the upcoming first meeting of the Group scheduled to be held on June 2, 2022, in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, within the framework of the annual International Congress ECOJER.
