TURKPA Gathers Leaders of the Future in Istanbul

An International Forum “Role of Youth Leadership In Development Process of Interstate Cooperation” will be organized by TURKPA International Secretariat on 14-16 October in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey.

Conference will be held in accordance with the decision taken at the first meeting of Commission on International Relations of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries took place on 3 November 2011.

The aim of the Conference is to bring together young leaders from various countries to build personal network and conduct a dialogue, promote cooperation among the countries of the region with different culture, religion and traditions, realize potential of youth to establish a common future in solidarity and promote values coming from common history, culture and geography.

The Forum which will be held under the slogan “Today’s young leaders in the region are the leaders of the future” will be a big step by TURKPA in order to develop communication and cooperation between the fraternal peoples.

Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Caspian Strategy Institute provide support to the Forum.

Parliamentarians, diplomats, bureaucrats, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations from 25 countries including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, European Parliament, Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Pakistan, Iraq and Marocco will participate at the Forum. Mr. Mehmet Sağlam, Acting Chair of Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mr. Suat Kılıç, Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Azad Rahimov, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Elnur Aslanov, Head of the Political Analyses and Information Provision Department of the President Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Elshad Iskenderov, Head of State Committee for work with religious associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Torobay Zulpukarov, Vice-speaker of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic and other high-level government representatives are planning to attend and make a speech at the opening ceremony of the Forum.

At the end of the International Forum, adoption of the common Appeal of participants is expected with the view to announce the call of young leaders for peace and development in the region, resolution of problems without use of force and to create a region of friendship and fraternity house through joint efforts of traditional and parliamentary diplomacy.
