There was held a meeting between TURKPA Secretary General and the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament.

Mr. Cemil Cicek, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey received Mr. Ramil Hasanov, TURKPA Secretary General on April 2, 2013.

TURKPA Secretary General gave detailed information to Mr. Cemil Cicek on organizations recent activities, reputation growing day by day in the international arena and important role played in the development of inter-state relations.

TURKPA Secretary General noted that preparation works for the 4th Plenary Session of TURKPA which would take place in Ankara on 10-12 June 2013, had already been started and Turkey would host the next Plenary Session in a high level.

The Secretary General gave information about allocation of land for the TURKPA by the government of Azerbaijan and construction of a new building in the near future. And he noted that this step is an example of importance given to the organization by the government and president of Azerbaijan.

The Chairman of the Turkish Parliament expressed his gratitude to the TURKPA Secretary General for detailed and comprehensive information. He noted that necessary steps had been taken and the orders were given in order to hold the Plenary Session in a high level in Ankara which coincides with the 5th anniversary of the organization.

The Chairman noted that he considers important the works of the standing commissions of the TURKPA, and reports and recommendations adopted by these commissions are a great impetus for the development of comprehensive relations among the brotherly Turkish states and their parliaments.

Mr. Cemil Çiçek said he was pleased with that the Azerbaijani government and its president gives special importance to the TURKPA and requested the Secretary General to convey his gratitude to Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Expressing satisfaction with the activities of the TURKPA International Secretariat, Mr. Cemil Cicek said that more steps should be taken in economic, political, commercial, cultural, education and many other areas. Mr. Cemil Cicek said that joining of brotherly Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to the TURKPA, is one of the priorities in this area, and the very serious task falls on International Secretariat in this area.

Expressing his gratitude for warm reception, TURKPA Secretary General noted that he would do his best to perform properly of the duties incumbent on the International Secretariat of the TURKPA.

Mr. Kurshad Melih Sarıarslan, Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA and Mr. Emin Hasanov, Secretary of the Commission on International Relations of TURKPA, also participated in the meeting.
