Chairman of Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ogtay Asadov received TurkPA International Observers mission

On October 8, 2013 Chairman of Milli Majlis Mr. Ogtay Asadov received the delegation of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking countries (TurkPA) that will observe the Presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan on October 9, 2013.

Mr. Haluk IPEK, Head of TurkPA International Observers mission, member of the Parliament of Turkey, Mr. Ussengeldy MEDEUOV, member of Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Mrs. Karamat Orozova, member of Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Kadir Gökmen ÖĞÜT, Mr. Atila KAYA, members of the Parliament of Turkey, Mr. Serhat Bülent ERTEN, TurkPA coordinator and Mr. Jandos ASANOV, TurkPA Secretary General participated in the meeting.

Mr. Asadov mentioned that elections is an important event in the political life of each country and informed that nearly 40 000 observers from 50 international organisations came to monitor the elections.

Chaiman of Milli Majlis emphasized that the Azerbaijani Government made all the efforts to ensure necessary conditions for holding elections in conformity with internationally recognized election standars.

Head of the TurkPA Observers mission Mr. Haluk IPEK underlined that TurkPA Observers had already monitored presidential and parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzystan,Turkey as well as in Azerbaijan in 2010. While noting speedy overall development of Azerbaijan the Turkish parliamentarian wished successful conduct of current elections.

The members of parliaments from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic in their speeches highly assessed bilateral relations of their countries with Azerbaijan.
