Meeting of the TURKPA International Observers mission with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission

On 8 October 2013 TURKPA International Observers Mission held a meeting with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Mazahir Panahov. Mr. Panahov informed members of the Mission on the measures taken on preparation for presidential elections and improvement of election procedure. He underlined that nearly 5492 polling stations operate on the territory of Azerbaijan and about 5 145 000 voters were registered.

Chairman of the CEC also said that citizens of Azerbaijan living or currently staying abroad are able to vote.

Mr. Panahov mentioned that CEC would timely response to all possible shortcomings and violations of election process and in this regard CEC supplied relevant information to the authorities responsible for conducting election process in legal framework.

Mr.Haluk Ipek briefly informed the Chairman on the activities of the TurkPA Observers Mission and wished successful conduct of the presidential elections.
