TURKPA and International Kazakh-Turkish University signed a Memorandum of Understanding

On 29 September 2014 in the city of Turkestan, Kazakhstan TURKPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov and President of Hoja Ahmed Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University Walikhan Abdibekov signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Subject to memorandum, the parties agreed to cooperate to achieve goals and objectives that are common to the Turkic cooperation structures.

While addressing the community of teachers and students of the university, Mr. Asanov gave detailed information on the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries, which was founded on the initiative of Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The Secretary General emphasized that TURKPA attaches particular importance to the preparation of highly skilled Turkic speaking interpreters in order to increase information exchange among the Turkic speaking countries.

On the same day, Mr. Asanov visited the mausoleum of great Sufi saint Hoja Ahmed Yassawi, as well as other historical and spiritual sites located in and around the city.
