TURKPA delegation started its election observation in Turkey

TURKPA observation mission started to conduct a short-term monitoring of the parliamentary elections to be held in Turkey on 7 June 2015. The mission is led by Mr. Nizami Jafarov, member of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan, and comprised of Mr. Eldar İbrahimov, member of the Milli Mejlis, Mr. Bekmyrza Yelamanov, member of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Mr. Serikjan Kanayev, member of the Mazhlis of the Paliament of Kazakhstan and Mr. Kurmanbek Diykanbayev, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan.

The mission’s programme included meetings with the Chairman of the Supreme Board of Elections, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. On election day, observers visited several polling stations in Ankara in order to assess election environment and voting process at all stages.

Monitoring of the polling stations will be followed by the press conference of the mission to be held on 8 June.
