9 November, the day of the adoption of the national flag by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918, is marked as the Day of the National Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan. As a symbol of national sovereignty, the national flag of Azerbaijan that demonstrates people's commitment to the ideology of freedom, national moral values and universal ideals, has become one of the sacred symbols of statehood for all citizens of the country after regaining its independence.
