Statement of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries on the situation in the Kyrgyz Republic

The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TURKPA) expresses concern over the tense situation following the parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic and calls on all political groups and citizens to unite behind the popularly elected President of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Sooronbai Jeenbekov in his efforts to return the country into the legal fold.

Kyrgyz Republic, as the TURKPA member country plays an essential role in the interaction among Turkic-speaking countries and its political stability is a significant factor in the security of the region.

The Assembly expresses hope for the earliest stabilization of the situation in the country within the legal framework and in accordance with the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.
