Statement of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries on the events in Kazakhstan

The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA) is closely following the developments in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is a member of the organization, and deplores the violence that has led to human casualties and damage to public and private property.

TURKPA declares its solidarity with the people and leadership of Kazakhstan and strongly believes that the fraternal Kazakh people, taking into account its centuries-old wisdom, will overcome this difficult period of its history. Being one of the main pillars of the Turkic World, Kazakhstan will be able to adequately get out of this situation and continue its peaceful development for the benefit of its people.

TURKPA expresses confidence in the capacity of the Kazakh authorities to restore public order and stability in Almaty and other major cities of the country. For its part, TURKPA is always ready to provide any assistance to the fraternal people and expresses condolences to the relatives and friends of the citizens who died in the tragic events, and wishes a speedy recovery to all those affected.
