The First Meeting of Young Parliamentarians

The First Meeting of Young Parliamentarians entitled “Youth Values and Parliamentary Solidarity” was held on 27 November 2019 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. The event was co-organized by Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and TURKPA.

The meeting brought together parliamentarians from TURKPA member countries, as well as representatives of state bodies of Kazakhstan and moderated by Mr. Berik Ospanov, Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Affaris of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation.

In his opening speech, Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov assessed the youth as the driving force of parliamentarism and interparliamentary relations, contributing to the development of cooperation between countries in various significant fields. Mr. Mamaiusupov noted the meeting as the first step towards the formation of a common concept of Turkic-speaking countries on youth policy and expressed his hope that the event would create the opportunity for the exchange of views and ideas among the young parliamentarians.

The meeting continued with the speeches by other participants and ended with adoption of the outcome document of young parliamentarians.
