First Meeting of the TURKPA Women Parliamentarians Group under the theme “Gender Opportunities in Sustainable Development Policies in the TURKPA Member Counties” was held in the framework of the 2nd International ECOJER Congress in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on 2 June 2022. The meeting was organized by TURKPA, the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the ECOJER Association.

Parliamentary delegations of the TURKPA member countries, members of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of diplomatic corps, as well as representatives from the United Nations, and NGOs took part in the meeting.

The meeting was opened by Ms. Lazzat Ramazanova, Head of the Group, member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Following the opening ceremony, the participants delivered their speeches on the theme having stressed the significance of the Group in the context of discussion of gender issues.

During the Plenary Session of the ECOJER Congress, an awarding ceremony was organized and all speakers of the Group meeting were awarded for their contribution to the discussions. The Ecojer Association also presented a commendation to TURKPA, expressing gratitude for the organization of the event and participation in the Congress.
