On 11 April 2022, an introductory meeting of the TURKPA Women Parliamentarians Group was organized in an online format.

Women parliamentarians from the member states, as well as Uzbekistan and representatives of the TURKPA Secretariat attended the meeting.

The meeting was opened by Mrs. Lazzat Ramazanova, Head of the Group and member of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Expressing gratitude to the participants for their willingness to contribute to the future activities of the Group, she highlighted the importance of presence of parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan in the meeting. Head of the Group expressed hope for accession of Uzbekistan to the Assembly in the near future. The participants conducted discussion on the work and future activities of the Group.

The first meeting of the Group was proposed to hold in the framework of the Second International Environmental Congress - ECOJER on June 2, 2022 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
