On behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) International Secretariat and my own behalf, it is with immense honor and profound joy that I extend our warmest congratulations on the historic proclamation of December 15 as World Turkic Language Family Day by UNESCO. This momentous decision, taken at the 43rd UNESCO General Conference in the ancient and symbolic city of Samarkand, is a landmark achievement for the entire Turkic World. It rightfully acknowledges the ancient roots, profound historical legacy, and universal values embodied by our shared linguistic heritage. The Turkic language family has for centuries been the bedrock of our civilization, a golden thread connecting our peoples across history and geography. The fact that this proclamation coincides with the date when the great Turcologist Vilhelm Thomsen deciphered the Orkhon Inscriptions on 15 December 1893, adds a deep layer of historical and scientific significance. It bridges our earliest written records with our vibrant future. This recognition by UNESCO, the world's leading body for the protection of cultural and linguistic diversity, is a testament to the growing role and rising identity of the Turkic World on the global stage. It is also a fruit of the dedicated efforts and harmonious cooperation among our Member States and Observers, for which we are deeply grateful. The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States remains steadfast in its commitment to support initiatives that promote our common historical and cultural heritage. We are dedicated to strengthening the unity and solidarity among Turkic-speaking peoples and advancing our common vision for a prosperous and influential future. I sincerely congratulate all nations of the Turkic World, all speakers of Turkic languages, and every friend who cherishes and learns our beautiful tongues on this momentous occasion. May World Turkic Language Family Day inspire future generations to preserve, celebrate, and carry forward our invaluable linguistic treasure. With my highest considerations and congratulations, Ambassador Ramil Hasan Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA)
